Butterfly Cards & Gifts began with handmade greeting cards from my dining room table, and slowly grew into something much bigger.
I’ve always loved creating meaningful cards for birthdays, celebrations, and special milestones.
But there was never enough occasions in my own family to make all the cards I wanted to create.
So I loved being able to make such meaningful greeting cards for my customers and seeing them go out into the world.
And while I was happy creating my cards, my husband then said something that changed everything.
"Why not include some of the bags, organisers, and handmade items you already make and use?"
More Than A Greeting Card Shop
Today, Butterfly Cards & Gifts brings together three creative passions:
- Practical sewn items designed for everyday life
- Cross stitch supplies, patterns, and stitching accessories
- Handmade cards and paper creations
While the products have changed and evolved over time, the reason behind them has stayed the same.
You'll find each product I make here started with a real-life frustration.
Sometimes it was my frustration.
Other times, it came from family, friends, customers, or fellow makers looking for a better solution.
Often it began with a simple thought:
"There has to be a better way."

The Overbook Pouch came from constantly grabbing my journal and realising I didn't have the right pen with me.

A washable draught stopper cover came about because my aunt wanted a way to keep hers clean and change it with the seasons.

Practical, Personal & Made To Last
Again and again, products were born from real needs, real people, and real experiences. That's still how I approach every new idea today. I don't create products simply because they're trendy.
I create products because they solve a problem, make life easier, improve organisation, support creativity, or add a little more joy to everyday routines.
I've been cross stitching for over 30 years, sewing for more than a decade, and creating handmade items for much of my adult life. What started as a creative outlet has grown into a business I'm incredibly proud of.
Many products are handmade by me in small batches, while others are carefully selected because they're tools and supplies I personally use and trust. Everything is chosen with the same philosophy:
Practical doesn't have to be boring.
I believe useful things can still have personality.
The items we use every day deserve to be enjoyable, colourful, and thoughtfully designed.
